What is Build An Agent Day?
Build An Agent Day is a one-day, hands-on AI training workshop and a program of All Things AI (the southeast's AI community for business professionals, headquartered in Durham, NC). The 2026–2027 tour visits Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, and Raleigh NC. Attendees codify a workflow they own as an AI agent and leave with a working automation built on Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Agents, or Manus.
Where can I attend Build An Agent Day?
Build An Agent Day visits three cities on the 2026–2027 tour: Atlanta, GA (July 22 at Atlanta Tech Village); Charlotte, NC (July 28 at the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City); and Raleigh, NC. See the Events page for confirmed dates and venues.
Who is Build An Agent Day for?
Business professionals, government leaders, and educators in the host city's region who want to leave the day with a working AI agent that automates a real task in their job. The day is designed for non-developers — no coding background required.
Do I need to be a developer to attend?
No. The day is designed for non-developers. You'll use Claude Cowork (Anthropic), ChatGPT Agents (OpenAI), and Manus at a level that doesn't require you to know how to write production code.
What does Build An Agent Day cost?
Early bird $297 · standard $397 · plus taxes and fees. Covers the full eight-hour workshop across three agent stacks, meals, materials, and the working AI agent you build during the day. Residents of the host city's region get priority access to registration.
What should I bring?
The laptop you actually use at work. We'll connect to your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account during the build, so come signed in. Bring one workflow you wish you didn't have to do anymore.
What will I leave with?
A working AI agent integrated with your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account, an understanding of agent design patterns, a reusable skill that captures your expertise, and full access to the All Things Open, All Things AI, and AIE Network communities for ongoing learning.
What AI tools will be covered?
Three agent stacks: Claude Cowork by Anthropic, ChatGPT Agents by OpenAI, and Manus. Each is taught with a different audience fit in mind — Claude Cowork for knowledge workers automating their own jobs, ChatGPT Agents for enterprise IT and sales operations, and Manus for research-heavy roles and long-running tasks.
Where is the workshop held?
Each tour stop has its own venue. Atlanta is at Atlanta Tech Village (3423 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305). Charlotte is at the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City (320 E. 9th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202). Raleigh's venue will be announced. See the events page for each city's full details.
Is this AI training accredited or eligible for continuing education?
Build An Agent Day is a professional development workshop, not an accredited course. Many employers and agencies accept it for internal continuing-education credit. Talk to your HR or training department for details.
How is this different from an online AI course?
Online AI courses give you concepts. Build An Agent Day gives you a working agent connected to your real work tools, built in a room with peers and an instructor walking every table. You don't go home with a reading list — you go home with something that runs.
What is the S.M.A.R.T. framework you teach?
S.M.A.R.T. is Mark's five-step method — Sort, Match, Automate, Refine, Take Control — for turning a workflow you own into a working AI agent in a single day. Sort your tasks by AI readiness, match each to the right tool, automate the workflow, refine the outputs, and take control of your AI strategy. It's the framework we teach live in the workshop and the loop attendees keep using week after week to ship the next agent. Read the full framework at buildanagent.io/smart-framework.
Will the sessions be recorded?
The keynote and panel will be recorded and shared. The hands-on workshop is intentionally in-person only — we want you actually building, not watching.
I'm not in the host city's region. Can I still attend?
Yes. Out-of-region attendees are welcome at any city stop. Locals get first dibs on early-access announcements, but the doors are open to everyone.
Can my employer reimburse the ticket?
Yes. Most employers reimburse Build An Agent Day under their professional development or continuing education budgets. Early bird tickets are $297 (plus applicable taxes and fees) — well within most PD budgets. We provide a receipt formatted for expense reports on request, and a free request-letter generator at buildanagent.io/convince-your-boss that drafts the email to your manager for you.
How do I sponsor this event?
